Sep. 8--If there's a silver lining in the long, intense drought that has scorched South Texas lawns this summer, it might be this: It's also produced a puny crop of ragweed.
And that, experts say, could be good news for a vast number of people who are sensitive to ragweed pollen.
"I still think there's going to be a few plants out there, plants that are flowering. But I don't think its going to be as bad as we've seen in years past," said David Rodriguez, the Bexar County extension agent for horticulture.
