Sep. 8--George Reeves killed himself 47 years ago. He shot himself. Rumor had it differently, though: Around Hollywood, people said he leaped from a high window. A few others said he was murdered. As if it matters. Today, Reeves receives no entry in David Thomson's prickly reference standard, A Biographical Dictionary of Film. In Ephraim Katz's own reference doorstop, The Film Encyclopedia, the judicious yin to Thomson's yang, Reeves gets the tiniest of mentions. Allow your eyes to drift down the page -- notice "Reeves, Keanu."
Notice that Keanu's entry gets double George's space; also notice that George's first acting job ...
