On May 4, Henry Fogel, who is CEO and president of the American Symphony Orchestra League, spoke with members of Syracuse Opera's Aria Society about his roots in Syracuse. He was here when the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra began in 1961 and ran classical music station WONO-FM for 15 years in the 1960s and 1970s. From here, he went on to top management positions at the New York Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., and the Chicago Symphony, where he was president for 18 years.
