AUSTIN, Texas _ The last time a game this big came to the state capital, Knute Rockne and his Notre Dame teammates were floating a funky thing called the forward pass. A crowd of 7,000 showed up for that one, which might not seem like much until you consider it was about half the town's population in 1913.
