Sep. 10--SEPTEMBER 10, 2006 -- On the corner of 13th and East Madison streets stands a 113-year-old Victorian structure built by Brownsville pioneer Andres Cueto and simply known as La Nueva Libertad. At first glance, this majestic, two-story brick building with its New Orleans-influenced architecture appears desolate and out-of-place among the smaller homes and business and abandoned lots around it.
