Sep. 10--NORMAN -- Paul Thompson is better than all of us thought, and Oklahoma's defense is worse than all of us thought, and sometime Saturday those perceptions crossed on Owen Field. Through two games, two entertaining, competitive games against mediocre foes, OU's quarterbacking is better than OU's defense. Who would have thunk it? As college football curveballs go, that's a doozy, and not just because Tall Paul tossed out Heupelian numbers Saturday in a 37-20 victory over Washington.
The real stunner at Owen Field was the occasional gashing of OU's defense by a Washington team that couldn't find the Rose Bowl if ...
