Sep. 10--FORT WALTON BEACH -- In the world of defense contractors, Fort Walton Machining isn't a big name. It keeps the big names in business. "Our customers are the Boeings, the Crestview Aerospaces," said Tim McDonald, who purchased the company in 1997. The precision machining company, which has enjoyed a growth spurt in the past few years, specializes in manufacturing highly complex parts quickly and in low quantities. "The customer is looking for it in three days, sometimes in three weeks," McDonald said. "Average quantity for us is anywhere from one or two to a couple of hundred.
