Coach manufacturing capacity at ICF raised
Chennai, Sep 9 (PTI) The Rail Ministry has raised the capacity of the railway coach manufacturing facility at the ICF here from 1200 coaches per annum to 1500 coaches and sanctioned Rs 49.04 crore for strengthening the infrastructure to meet the target.
"The main intention of increasing the production capacity is to reduce production cost per unit, which was higher than that of the coach factory at Kapurthala," Union Minister of state for Railways R Velu said after inaugurating the '8th Line Bay' at ICF's furnishing division constructed at a cost of Rs 2.92 crore.
