IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba, the industry pioneer in mobile hard disk drives (HDDs), continued to top all manufacturers in mobile HDD shipments into portable devices for the second quarter of 2006, according to the most recent storage industry report from research firm International Data Corporation (IDC).
IDC reported that Toshiba's global market share is 27 percent for mobile HDD (2.5-inch and smaller form factors) shipments(1), marking the company's fourth consecutive quarter as the mobile market leader.
