Location: 15 miles north of Albuquerque,along the Rio Grande in Barnalillo on NM 44.
The site of Kuaua was designated Coronado State Monument in 1940. The monument offers visitors an opportunity to learn more about pueblo life during the time of Coronado's expedition. Located adjacent to Coronado State Park, it includes an interpretive trail through the partially reconstructed ruins of the pueblo. The visitor center museum features both Indian and Spanish colonial artifacts.
