Breast meat took wing last week, with chicken breast meat soaring 15 cents and turkey breast meat 40 cents--40 cents in one week --as production cutbacks left chicken supplies barely sufficient to demand and production losses left turkey supplies short, according to Feedstuffs sources contacted from the ID/ INFO Expo in Kansas City, Mo.
As a matter of history, chicken production for this year now trails year ago--an event few, if any, observers ever expected to witness in their lifetimes.
