Mitsubishi may buy stake in Inner Mongolian ferrosilicon producer - official
Shanghai. September 11. INTERFAX-CHINA - Mitsubishi Corp. may purchase a major stake in ferrosilicon producer Eerduosi Electric and Metallurgy Co. (EEMC), an EEMC official said Monday.
Li Chengjun, the head of EEMC's administration office, said Mitsubishi has offered to purchase a 10% stake from one of EEMC's shareholders and further increase its investment in the company.
Based in Inner Mongolia, EEMC is a subsidiary of Inner Mongolia Eerduosi Cashmere Products Co. Ltd. (INECP). The company's main asset is a 350,000-ton ferrosilicon line, which is also being upgraded.
