Sep. 11--Stockton's Michelle Cozad never has traveled abroad or spent any great length of time without her family and friends near her.
But that didn't prevent the former St. Mary's High, Delta College and Santa Clara University standout guard from boarding a plane Thursday for Switzerland, where she will continue her basketball career. Cozad, a 5-foot-10 guard and reigning player of the year in the West Coast Conference, signed a one-year contract with Elfic Fribourg, the defending champions of the LNA Swiss League, the top women's basketball league in Switzerland.
