Dist. 300 may delay building Tardy state grant may hinder plans.(News)

Community Unit District 300 officials said Wednesday they will have to delay construction projects if a $30 million state grant doesn't come through.

District officials had hoped to pair the $185 million building bond voters approved this spring with a $30 million grant from the Capital Development Board.

But Cheryl Crates, the district's chief financial officer, said the state grant hasn't arrived as expected this year and could push back middle school building projects if it doesn't arrive by next fall.
