Sep. 13--San Antonio's AmeriPoint Title has joined with a group of independent title companies and investors in Texas and Colorado to purchase Alliant National Title Insurance Co.
AmeriPoint is one of about 45 title companies and individual investors who helped fund the purchase of Alliant Title through stock purchases.
Alliant has received the first underwriter license awarded in Texas in more than 15 years, the company said.
The move gives AmeriPoint Title a slice of the title business both as an independent title agency and as an underwriter of title insurance.
