Sep. 13--Students at two Berks County elementary schools will get extra daily doses of fruits and vegetables to encourage healthful eating habits that teachers and administrators hope will last their lives.
Conrad Weiser West Elementary students kicked off their program Tuesday with an assembly featuring fruit-and-veggie-themed music, dancing and a skit.
As the students left the gymnasium, they received baby carrots in clear bags stamped with popular cartoon character, SpongeBob SquarePants.
