From Russian theater to a drummer in residence, the arts are getting a boost in St. Louis Park thanks to $20,000 in grants awarded by the city-funded Friends of the Arts program. The unusual public arts endeavor sought applications for grants this summer, and last week, a board of local volunteers announced that the money will go toward a wide range of projects, many with educational or multicultural components. The projects involve artists from the greater metro area as well as St. Louis Park.
