Sep. 13--In a dark room, illuminated only by fluorescent stars on the ceiling, a few dozen Brownsville eighth-graders listened intently as they were briefed on their mission.
The students would rendezvous with a comet later, but first they were going to get a history lesson.
Art Castillo, director of education at the Challenger Learning Center in San Benito, delivered a passionate speech about the fateful day in 1986 when the space shuttle challenger crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.
