Sep. 13--A former congressional aide recently hired to work as a contractor for Erlanger hospital said Tuesday he will register with the state as a lobbyist, but he maintains that his job won't include trying to influence lawmakers' positions on specific bills. Doug Fisher, former district director for U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn., said he plans to register Oct. 1 as a lobbyist for the hospital. On Aug. 24, he and hospital executives told Erlanger trustees that he would not need to do so because his job description did not include lobbying.
