Sep. 14--FRISCO -- That satisfactory record and perch atop the MLS Western Conference shouldn't fool anybody. FC Dallas is hardly a team so superior to the field that it can withstand a night of casual attacking and inattention to detail. Chivas USA gained precious ground in the playoff chase while Dallas stumbled apathetically through the mild night at Pizza Hut Park, falling to the Los Angeles outfit, 1-0. The home team fumbled its chance to officially lock a playoff spot and to close ground on D.C. United in the Supporters Shield chase for the league's top record.
