BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. (NASDAQ:LPNT) today announced the signing of definitive agreements for the sale of two of its hospitals in West Virginia. St. Joseph's Hospital, a 325-bed hospital located in Parkersburg, West Virginia, will be sold to Signature Hospital Corporation, Dallas, Texas, and 155-bed Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia, will be sold to Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association, South Charleston, West Virginia. Both hospitals had been classified as assets held for sale since purchased from HCA Inc. in June 2006.
