Sep. 15--Pennsylvania's former banking secretary has joined a new, branchless, business-oriented bank that will compete with the established Pennsylvania lenders he used to regulate.
A. William Schenck III, who quit Gov. Rendell's cabinet last month to return to the private sector, said he had been recruited earlier this summer by James Getz, former president of Pittsburgh-based Federated Securities Corp., to help raise $100 million for Tri-State Capital Bank. Schenck will serve as president.
Schenck said that sum would make it the biggest bank start-up in Pennsylvania history. Over the last three years, ...
