W. Bingham "Bing" Gordon edged over to a computer during a press briefing sponsored by Silicon Valley's Electronic Arts, grew absorbed by the game on display and plunged into play. The company's boyish 44-year-old executive vice president, whose job is to create fast-selling electronic games, is plugged in. He's a man who understands the fun-loving side of American consumers. "People who are successful and well adjusted," says Gordon, "now play games."
The statement may be hyperbole, but Electronic Arts' hot hand in video games is for real. With fiscal 1994 sales of over $400 million, the company has designed one hit after another for Nintendo and Sega video game ...
