The new health care reform will touch the lives of every American. The real question is how much impact it will have on each of us. Will the new legislation change our lives, particularly our health care, for the better or the worse? This article attempts to integrate into a relevant discussion some of the perspectives of health care reform. First, the need for health care reform will be briefly discussed. Then President Clinton's Plan will be outlined. We also look at some of the anticipated effects upon quality, cost, and access. And, finally we consider implementation of the plan, especially for South Dakota's predominately rural population.
