PHILADELPHIA, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, a division of American Home Products Corporation (NYSE: AHP), announces the launch of its Nordette(R) (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol tablets) Safer Sex Initiative(TM), a program that will assist health care providers in counseling first-time oral contraceptive users about how to protect themselves against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including AIDS. The program, the first of its kind, is available in conjunction with Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories' oral contraceptive Nordette(R), which is frequently prescribed to first-time oral contraceptive users.
