Sep. 16--Anyone who has bought packaged, raw spinach should dispose of it to avoid being affected by an E. coli outbreak that has affected several states, the Pueblo City-County Health Department director said Friday.
Dr. Christine Nevin-Woods also urged anyone who has recently consumed raw, fresh spinach and experiences E. coli symptoms to contact their health provider.
E. coli exposure may cause diarrhea, often with blood and abdominal cramping. Fever is absent or mild. The illness typically resolves within a week, but it can cause a form of kidney failure that can lead to serious kidney damage or even death, especially in ...
