SOUTH BEND, Ind. _ There was a time when a blocked extra-point attempt late in the first quarter allowed one to wonder if that botched kick would wind up haunting Michigan.
That time was very brief.
That's because the 11th-ranked Wolverines (3-0) scored early and often on Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium, on offense and defense, in the north end zone and the south.
The final result was a 47-21 drubbing of the No.2 Irish (2-1). It was one of the worst home losses in school history, only the eighth time Notre Dame has given up at least 40 points at home.
