Article: MTV nets to test home shopping. (MTV Networks Inc.)

NEW YORK -- MTV Networks last week announced that it would test home shopping programming on its MTV, VH-1 and Nick at Nite networks for the possible launch of a separate home-shopping channel in the first quarter of 1995.

The announcement follows last week's reports that Time Warner Inc. and Sony Entertainment Corp. are leading a consortium of record companies to look at starting a series of music video channels around the world that would compete with MTV. Those channels all could have a home shopping component.
