The independent commission established to recommend to Congress any needed changes in the laws, policies, regulations and practices under which the guard and reserves operate delivered its 90-day report June 5 to the House and Senate armed services committees and the secretary of defense.
Among the 13 senior military and civilian leaders selected to serve on the Commission on the National Guard and Reserve is retired Air Force Lt. Gen. James E. Sherrard III, former Air Force Reserve Command commander.
