Sep. 18--TRINIDAD - For a handful of students who say they consider themselves fortunate, Sarah Natani brought the past to life during a Navajo weaving workshop at the A.R. Mitchell Museum.

Natani, a nationally acclaimed Navajo weaver from New Mexico's Table Mesa, spent last week introducing them to traditional weaving techniques, while sharing stories from her life and her native heritage.

The diminutive Natani, her silver hair pulled back into a knot, sits cross-legged on the floor carding wool strands that she's had a hand in from the very birth of the sheep from which it grew.
