MIAMI, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Miami Art Museum (MAM) has announced the selection of the celebrated firm of Herzog & de Meuron as designers of the Museum's new and expanded facility, scheduled to open in late 2010. The unanimous vote by the Museum's Architecture Selection Panel followed a public presentation by MAM director Terence Riley, who recommended the firm. Panel members included MAM Board Chair Aaron Podhurst; Trustees Mireille Chancy- Gonzalez, Rafael Miyar, and Gloria Scharlin; and Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Director Michael Spring.
