SWISS VALLEY FARMS CO., A DAIRY COOPERATIVE BASED IN DAVENPORT, IOWA, ANNOUNCED THAT IT HAS ACQUIRED THE SHULLSBURG CREAMERY PROPERTY AND FACILITY. TERMS WERE NOT DISCLOSED.
The purchase, which took effect last Thursday, included the dairy foods plant, cold storage warehouse, dry storage facility, and waste water treatment facility, all on 18 acres on the west side of Shullsburg.
Mid-West Dairymen, a co-operative based in Rockford, Ill., bought the Shullsburg brand and the packaging and marketing segment -- but not the cheese plant -- of the company after the business went into receivership last December.
