Sep. 19--A fractured left ankle has left center fielder Aaron Rowand watching while the Phillies try to win the National League wild card.
He remains hopeful he can resume playing if his teammates qualify for the postseason. Rowand said Monday his rehab was ahead of the 4-6 week recovery schedule established when he broke his ankle during an Aug. 21 collision with Chase Utley. He has a doctor's appointment Friday, which he hopes will end with him being allowed to resume full weight-bearing activities on the ankle.
