Sep. 18--Roughly 18 acres of land near the Charlotte County Administration Center could be added to the county's U.S. 41 overlay district.
That's if commissioners approve the change after holding two public hearings, the first of which will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the administration center, 18500 Murdock Circle.
The existing overlay spans nine miles along U.S. 41 from the Sarasota-Charlotte county line to near Gardner Drive in Port Charlotte. It spreads out approximately one block along both sides of U.S. 41.
