Sep. 20--TOKYO -- Oji Paper Co. President Kazuhisa Shinoda unveiled plans Wednesday to set up paper factories in Southeast Asia to enhance its production efficiency and competitiveness.
Oji envisions building factories to make base paper for heat-sensitive paper products in Southeast Asian as it is implementing forestation projects in Vietnam and other parts of the region to gain wood chips, a key paper material, Shinoda said.
Demand for such products is expected to grow in the coming years in China and Southeast Asia, he said.
