COTABATO CITY, Sept 21 Asia Pulse - The United States government urged Thursday the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to continue their talks amid disparity on the issue of ancestral domain claim in Mindanao.
"The talks must go forward. It's important to reject violence," US Embassy in Manila spokesperson Matthew Lussenhop, told the Philippines News Agency in a telephone interview.
His statement was in apparent reaction to an earlier pronouncement by the MILF on going to war once more should the territorial issue in the GRP-MILF peace venture remain unresolved.
