MILWAUKEE _ Whenever the subject of his Ryder Cup record was broached in recent years, Tiger Woods either clenched his teeth and said something to the effect that he has tried his hardest or he cavalierly shrugged off his 7-11-2 mark.
"What was Jack's record?" Woods once challenged a reporter.
Most golf fans know Jack Nicklaus won 18 major championships, but few can recite his record in the Ryder Cup (17-8-3), which was exactly Woods' point.
