Sep. 23--Friday's sunset marked the beginning of Rosh Hashana, the first of Judaism's annual high holidays. To celebrate the holidays, the University of Wisconsin Hillel will offer Rosh Hashana services today and Sunday and Yom Kippur activities on Oct. 1 and 2. Activities are free for students upon registering and are available to non-students for $180. As the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashana is the beginning of a 10-day period where Jews are asked to begin a process of self-examination and repentance by looking back at the wrongs of the past year and righting them for the new year.
