Sep. 23--VILLAMONT -- It took a while early Thursday afternoon for anybody to show up at the Villamont spring, but that just made the little stone platform a comfortable place to sit and jot some thoughts about life as we know it.
The water poured steadily through the white plastic pipe stuck in the stone wall topped by the date 1938.
The spring is even older than that. People have been getting water from the unapproved source forever, it seems. I knew if I sat there long enough, somebody would come by.
