Sep. 23--CATOOSA -- Rogers hadn't won three of its first four games since 1975. An unbelievable offensive performance and a fumble by Catoosa quarterback Doug Quinn made sure the streak did not continue. In a game that featured more than 1,200 yards of offense by both teams and nine lead changes, wide receiver William Ray piled up 264 receiving yards and caught four touchdown passes from quarterback Kyle Johnson as Rogers held off the Indians 52-50 in a District 5A-4 opener Friday night at McNabb Field.
