Oklahoma cruises to easy win: OU shows no signs of letdown, destroys Middle Tennessee.

Sep. 24--NORMAN -- At the least the ponies got a workout. Boomer and Sooner, the Shetland ponies who pull the Sooner Schooner around Owen Field every time Oklahoma's football team scores, were huffing and puffing a lot more trying to keep up with their team Saturday than were the Sooners themselves. No. 17 OU was uncontested by Middle Tennessee in racing to a 45-point halftime lead and rolling to an easy 59-0 victory before a Memorial Stadium crowd of 84,326. It was the Sooners' largest margin of victory since a 77-0 mauling of Texas A&M in 2003. "It was good to play well in all parts of the game and for all 60 minutes," OU coach Bob Stoops ...
