Sep. 25--TWIN FALLS --The law was intended to help school districts maintain school buildings, but it came at the wrong time for the Twin Falls School District. And unless the law is changed, the school district could face state penalties simply because it is already maintaining its facilities. Known as House Bill 743, it requires each school district to put money aside to maintain their buildings. The bill was passed this year by the Idaho Legislature in response to a State Supreme Court decision that Idaho's previous method of funding school facilities was unfair to small school districts in poorer areas.
