Sep. 25--Kudos to Visit Florida, the state's tourism-marketing group.

Some organizations are still shy about acknowledging gay and lesbian travelers, much less doing anything to cater to them. But Visit Florida has stepped up. Chairwoman Donna Ross appointed a task force this summer to determine what the state could do to lure more of that $50 billion-a-year gay and lesbian travel market. Most recently, Visit Florida partnered with the Travel Industry Association in Washington to sponsor a $100,000 national survey of 2,000 gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender travelers.
