Sep. 25--Georgia registered voters back embryonic stem cell research by more than a 2-to-1 margin, according to a statewide poll done on behalf of the Georgia Biomedical Partnership.
Voters supported -- by a 63 to 33 percent margin -- research on stem cells taken from donated fertility clinic embryos that otherwise would be discarded. Five percent were undecided.
The results were announced Thursday at the three-day conference of The Georgia Economic Developers Association in Savannah.
