Sep 25, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Andrew Green has announced that he will resign as CEO of the Australian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association. The timing of Green's announcement is surprising considering that the $A17bn bid for Australian retailer Coles Myer by a private equity consortium led by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has increased the profile of private equity in Australia. Green was a strong advocate for the sector, but the private equity industry is now demanding that the Association convince the Australian Government of the benefits of private equity-supported companies to productivity and job creation.
