Realtors report many home buyers are already living on South Coast.

Sep. 23--A survey conducted last month among 20 local Realtors sheds light on where home buyers are coming from -- and where those who sell are going.

The survey, conducted for the 2006 Santa Barbara County Real Estate and Economic Outlook, covers 114 property sales and shows that in the first half of this year 68 percent of buyers were already living on the South Coast.

Roughly 15 percent came from elsewhere in California, 8 percent from the East Coast, and about 4.5 percent from other states in the West. Nearly 3 percent came from Santa Ynez and close to 2 percent from overseas.
