Sep. 27--Some records will never be broken. No one will ever play 2,632 consecutive games like Cal Ripken did for the Baltimore Orioles. Cy Young won 511 games and that record is safe. John Wooden and UCLA won 88 consecutive games from Jan. 23, 1971 to Jan. 19, 1974 and no college basketball team will ever approach that mark. Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point night, Wayne Gretzky's 215-point season, Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak and Nolan Ryan's seven no-hitters are safe, too.
And so is the 11 straight tournament victories compiled by Byron Nelson in 1945. That won't ever be matched, even by Tiger Woods.
