When Cito Gaston was splitting time growing up in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Texas, he had a little difficulty deciding exactly what he wanted to do for a living. First, he had thoughts of learning how to drive a truck and following in his father's footsteps. Then visions of stardom prompted him to toy with the idea of becoming a singer. And, like most little boys, he had the dream of slipping into a uniform and playing in the big leagues.
