Sep. 28--Evergreen Homes of Akron has been selling second mortgages without a license, in violation of state law, according to a complaint filed Wednesday. The company has agreed to the terms in the complaint, will stop selling the mortgages and will eliminate all future interest payments on the loans for potentially hundreds of area home buyers.
The Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Financial Institutions filed the complaint Wednesday in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
