Sep. 28--These days, not much living goes on in the typical American living room, at least in homes with a family room, too. Holidays aside, the living room is a lonely, lonely place. "Do we use it very much? Not really," says George Haughton, who recently renovated his East Meadow split level's kitchen and freshened up his rarely used living room. "You know what?
